About Ella

Ella monitors energy for European SMEs. Quarter-hourly meter data, market prices, capacity tariffs, anomaly detection, forecasting. We're 4 people, and we're shipping fast.

We're looking for someone with energy market experience who can also write Python and SQL. The job is turning domain knowledge into working software: models in production, insights that go directly to customers, research we publish openly.

What you'll work on

• Energy models: forecasting, anomaly detection, peak optimization, scenario simulation
• Data pipelines on a modern stack (Dagster, dbt, TimescaleDB, Polars, Modal)
• Product decisions: what's worth building and why
• Articles and research on energy data
• Large Language Models & Time Series Foundational Models
• Full-stack development in our product (NextJS, FastAPI)

What we're looking for

• Energy market background: supplier, consultancy, grid operator, or trading desk
• Hands-on Python and SQL
• Data warehousing or data/software engineering experience is a plus

What we offer
